Look, Hear and Touch!
All children are individuals and therefore the way in which they learn will be different from one another.
There are three common 'Individual Learning Style' which we keep in mind as we go through the process of planning and programming.
They are:
- Visual
- Auditory
- Kinesthetic (movement and action)
|
Visual Learners
This child comprehends new information best by seeing it in the form of pictures, demonstrations, diagrams, charts and films.
For visual learners we provide:
- Educational videos showed on our wide screen TV: Brainy Baby, Mathtacular, Once upon a time, Baby Einstein
- Flashcards and demonstrations, tables
- Story time: books including both facts and fiction
- Posters

Auditory Learners
Learners prefer to hear the world than touch it. They understand new information best through spoken words, they listen to the information.
For auditory learners we’ve got:
- Audio center and audio books
- Sound boxes
- Musical and Movement including singing along, musical instruments
- Nursery rhymes, poems, read aloud
|
Kinesthetic or active Learners
Grasp new information by doing something with it. Active learners are keen to try out and experiment with the new information and often enjoy group work (group or circle time) because this enables them to participate in active activities.
For active learners we’ve got:
- Manipulative materials including puzzles, blocks and construction sets
- Dynamic Math and Language learning (circle time etc)
- "Messy" Games: play dough, clay, sand play (sandpits)
- Children's Fitness: children’s size gym equipment, outdoor play, finger plays.
The individual observations of each child help us to take into account their individual learning style and the mode preferred. We plan enthusiastically and often consult kid’s parents when designing activities.
